Stress, anxiety, and overwhelm are a daily reality for high-achieving women. Trying to balance demanding careers, family responsibilities, and personal commitments, often leaves them exhausted and trapped.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve been there—frustrated with your packed schedule, overwhelmed by to-do lists, and wondering if you'll ever have time to slow down and relax.
The truth is, it’s not just about being too busy. The real issue runs deeper.
I recently had Lissa Figgins, an un-time management strategist, on my More Than Anxiety podcast, and she completely flips the conversation on time management. Her approach ditches traditional time management for something much more effective, and it just might be the key to finally feeling relaxed, in control, and having that time you've been looking for.
The Real Reason You’re Overwhelmed
Most of us believe the lie that “I’ll have time later”—after this project, this season, or this one more thing. But Lissa explains that the feeling of “not enough time” doesn’t go away just because your kids grow up, the busy season ends, or you finally get caught up on laundry.
Unless you address it head-on, you'll still feel stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed.
Having more time is about how you handle your time and priorities. We all have 24 hours every day, and what makes the difference is how we spend them—and that starts with understanding what matters most to you.
Why Time Management Isn’t the Answer
Honestly, how many times have you tried a new planner, app, or productivity hack, only to give up on it because you feel just as stressed as before? It’s not the planner, the app, or the hack that didn’t work—it’s what you think about the time you have that needs to change.
On the podcast, Lissa introduced a better way with a concept that might be new to you: time stewardship. This mindset shift helps you stop trying to control time and start viewing it as a gift to be used wisely. When you stop squeezing more tasks into your day to be productive and instead start aligning your time with your values, life becomes simpler, more meaningful, and more manageable.
Strategies to Manage Stress and Overwhelm
Making this change is simple. Here are some of Lissa’s tips to help you get started:
Change Your Story About Time: Stop saying, “I don’t have enough time” and start saying, “I have time for what matters most.” This small change in your thinking can make a huge difference in how you approach your day.
Become a Time Steward: Instead of managing every minute, focus on taking responsibility for how you spend your time. Be intentional about your choices and align them with your priorities.
Eliminate the Non-Essentials: Not everything on your list needs to get done. Identify what truly matters to you, and let go of tasks or distractions that don’t move you closer to your goals.
What Life Can Look Like
What if you could wake up each morning feeling clear-headed and ready for the day instead of rushing out the door in a frenzy?
At work, you’re focused, productive, and confident because you know your time is being spent on what matters—without having your attention pulled in 100 different directions.
At home, you’re present with your family and have the energy to enjoy time for yourself—without the guilt.
If this sounds pretty great but you're not sure if it’s possible, let’s talk about how I can help.
Coaching helps make this a reality by providing the right support, accountability, and systems you need to shift your mindset, create boundaries, and design a life that is fulfilling and productive.
If you’re tired of feeling like you’re running on empty, now is the perfect time to make a change.
